Imaging
At Kansas City Veterinary Care, we offer our patients the latest in diagnostic imaging. Our in-house radiology unit includes digital full-size and dental x-ray machines, and ultrasound machine.
Digital Radiology
We offer digital full-size and dental radiographs to help in the diagnosis of different types of conditions. Traditional x-rays use photographic film to capture an image, which require chemicals and additional time to be developed before they can be examined by the doctor. Digital radiographs are captured digitally, and sent directly to a computer, where the image can be assessed immediately. This translates to shorter times taking the x-rays and less radiation exposure. Digital radiology also allows image enhancement, zooming, and distribution, making it easy to send out to a specialist for evaluation.
Ultrasonography
Ultrasonography refers to the diagnostic tool that uses high frequency sound waves to generate an image based on how many of those waves bounce back. It is a safe, pain-free, non-invasive diagnostic tool that can be used alone, or in conjunction with other tests (like bloodwork and x-rays) to confirm a diagnosis. This tool will allow us to obtain samples in a way that is less invasive than surgery, take accurate measurements, and aid in planning the best course of action for your pet.
